Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia will remove preferential tariffs on over 99% of American goods under the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade, aiming to boost two-way commerce between the nations, the White House announced Wednesday (23/7/2025).
“Indonesia will eliminate preferential tariffs on more than 99% of US exports across all sectors—including agriculture, healthcare, seafood, ICT, automotive, and chemicals,” the statement said, as quoted by antaranews.com
The deal is expected to expand market access for US products and create high-quality jobs in the US. It also includes commitments to remove non-tariff barriers for American industrial and agricultural exports, harmonize rules of origin, and improve labor standards.
Other key provisions involve easing restrictions on digital trade, aligning economic security policies, and concluding a broader commercial agreement in the coming weeks.
“President Trump has secured a bold and visionary trade deal, one that benefits American workers, exporters, farmers, and digital innovators,” the White House added.
The US currently faces a $17.9 billion trade deficit with Indonesia.
