General Agus, speaking in Jakarta on Wednesday (10/4/2024), highlighted that the KKB, also known as the West Papua National Liberation Army (TPNPB), is again being addressed as  the OPM, as reported by antaranews.com. While an agreement was made during a Ministry of Political, Legal, and Security Affairs meeting in April 2021 to replace OPM with KKB or Terrorist Separatist Group (KST), the Indonesian Military decided on 5 April 2024 to reinstate the reference to KKB as OPM. General Agus emphasized recent acts of terror, including attacks on educators, healthcare workers, and the killings of military, police, and civilians by the OPM. He underlined that such actions cannot be ignored, as these groups possess firearms and continue to disrupt civilian and security force activities. General Subiyanto stressed that the military's approach to addressing issues in Papua involves combining armed operations with a territorial focus to expedite development and enhance community welfare.
