Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Directorate of Narcotics Crime of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Indonesian National Police (INP) is taking proactive measures to address the potential spread of 'zombie' drugs from Philadelphia, United States. The use of drugs has been experiencing a significant surge in the United States.

Disturbing reports on social media have shed light on the alarming situation where a significant portion of the population is caught in the grip of drug addiction, resulting in an epidemic there.

Addressing the situation during the National Coordination Meeting in Bali on Tuesday (30/5/2023), Police Senior Superintendent Jayadi, the Vice Director the Directorate of Narcotics Crime, highlighted that there have been no reports of flakka circulation within Indonesia as of now.

"To this day, we have not detected any instances of Fentanyl circulation in Indonesia," he said.

However, he emphasized the need for heightened vigilance among all ranks regarding the potential circulation of Fentanyl in the United States and its surrounding regions, considering the ongoing situation there. "But with the current situation in America, we urge all personnel to be prepared for the possible circulation of Fentanyl," he stated.

The city has earned the moniker of a 'zombie' city due to the unsettling sight of drug-addicted individuals wandering the streets in a zombie-like state, characterized by aimless walks and vacant stares resulting from substance abuse.

Within the city, it is unfortunately commonplace to come across scattered drug paraphernalia, indicating the presence of drug-related activities. Moreover, numerous makeshift tents occupied by homeless individuals can be found along the roadside, highlighting the complex challenges faced by the community.
