Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The Directorate of General Criminal Investigations of the Indonesian National Police (INP) have arrested two women for their alleged involvement in human trafficking cases in the two separate areas of Cileungsi, Bogor, West Java, and Ciledug, Tangerang, Banten. The suspects were identified as Suarty B Riartika, also known as Tika, and Ani Puji Astutik, alias Elisa. They were arrested  last week. Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, the Head of Public Information Bureau of the INP Public Relations Division, said that the arrest stemmed from the gradual departure of 10 Indonesian Migrant Workers  abroad in December 2022-February 2023. "The suspects recruited the victims, promising them jobs as domestic assistants in Erbil with a salary of $300," he said in a statement over the weekend, referring to the city in Turkey. After the victims agreed, the suspects arranged their passports and charged each of them between Rp 3 million to Rp 13 million. Without undergoing any medical check-ups, the victims were sent abroad by the suspect Elis to Turkey through Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Juanda Surabaya Airport. The victims were sent to Turkey using tourist visas, and while in Turkey, they were handed over to an agency named Muhammad and accommodated in an apartment guarded by an individual named Yakub. General Trunoyudo disclosed that Tika provided a shelter the victims before they were flown abroad, while Elisa served as an agency in Jakarta responsible for sending the victims to Turkey.
