Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  In a collaborative effort to bolster security in Indonesia's cryptocurrency industry, the Indonesian National Police (INP) has undertaken security measures for businesses, including Tokocrypto, to combat the surge of financial crimes in the crypto sector, such as fraud, money laundering, and illegal investments. "It is crucial for law enforcement worldwide, including in Indonesia, to understand how this technology operates and how it can be exploited for criminal activities. Hence, collaboration with technology experts and information exchange with specialists are vital in combating digital crimes," Senior SuperintendentM Samsul Arifin, the INP Deputy Director of General Crime Investigations of the Criminal Investigation Agency, on Sunday (28/1/2024). Over the past few months, Indonesia has witnessed an increase in crypto-related crimes, including the theft of crypto funds amounting to Rp 5.1 billion in Pekanbaru, Riau. While global trends indicate a decline in crypto crime activities, concerns persist about the public's lack of knowledge regarding crypto investments and blockchain technology. To address this, the INP and Tokocrypto have launched the "Crypto Investigations Training for Law Enforcement" program. Designed to empower law enforcement with essential knowledge and skills in handling crypto and blockchain cases, the program seeks to bridge the gap in understanding and ensure a secure and informed crypto landscape.
