Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP), General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, oversaw the departure of the Free INP Precision Homecoming for Eid 2024 at the National Monument in Jakarta on Saturday (6/4/2024).
The free buses aimed to transport people to West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java.
Chief Sigit said that this initiative, directed by President Joko Widodo, aimsed to ensure safer and smoother homecoming trips, according to antaranews.com.
Before departure, Chief Sigit, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi and Indonesian Military Commander General Agus Subiyanto, inspected the health facilities provided and checked the condition of passengers on the buses.
Meanwhile, the Chief of the INP Traffic Corps, Inspector General Aan Suhanan, explained that the initiative also involves 19 Regional Police, collectively accommodating 58,350 passengers on free buses.
This initiative was to minimize traffic accidents during the homecoming period, as the previous year saw around 3,500 accidents resulting in 554 fatalities over 15 day, he said.
General Aan hoped that this free homecoming initiative would ensure the safety and joy of travelers, making their journey meaningful and enjoyable.
