To ease holiday traffic flow, the Tangerang-Merak toll road operator installed additional electronic money card scanners, doubling capacity at each "tap-out" gate at the Merak Toll Gate, Banten. Toll service officer Putriyani explained on Saturday (6/4/2024) that the move aimed to expedite transactions at the gate, according to antaranews.com. The operator also offers card top-up services for drivers with low balances. In addition,  the operator introduced digital receipts to reduce paper waste and waiting times at exit gates. Drivers can access digital receipts online for up to 30 days. To manage congestion towards Merak Port, traffic management efforts, lane preparations, and police cooperation with a "delay system" were initiated. Other measures include restrictions on freight transport, portable toilets at rest areas, and enhanced public information services. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
