Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. In preparation for Eid al-Fitr 2024, the INP's Food Task Force has launched monitoring teams to ensure the availability and stability of essential commodities. "Vice Chief of the Task Force Brigadier General Helfi and the team have been monitoring these aspects, starting from Yogyakarta, then to Lombok, and currently in Kendari," said Police Senior Superintendenet Samsul Arifin, the Deputy Director of Special Economic Crimes at INP's Criminal Investigation Agency, on Saturday (27/1/2024). The task force currently prioritizes ensuring the availability of essential commodities in the market, aiming to make it easy for the public to obtain food items, he explained. "Each item has a government-set reference price. Ideally, we aim to align it closely with that reference price to prevent excessive increases. Ensuring goods' availability is our top priority for the public to access their food items," he asserted. He also assured a continuous review of market commodity prices, including monitoring signs of essential goods hoarding. "We're actively instructing regional task forces to regularly inspect markets and distributors, preventing any signs of hoarding essential commodities needed by the community," he said. (ar/rd/pr/nm)
