Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Headquarters has confirmed their coordination with the Bali Regional Police to apprehend a Canadian foreign national in Bali named Stephane Gagnon, 50-year-old, who is currently an Interpol fugitive, on Saturday (20/5/23).

Stephane Gagnon is a wanted individual sought by the Canadian government for his alleged involvement in fraudulent activities and forgery crimes within Canada.

"Following that, his address could be determined. We promptly shared this information with the Bali Regional Police, who subsequently apprehended him," explained the Head of the IR Division of INP Inspector General Krishna Murti as quoted by Jawapos on Sunday (4/6/23).

He further revealed that Stephane had legally entered Indonesian territory before the issuance of the red notice. The INP only received information regarding the red notice from the Canadian Police in February through Interpol.

"It is confirmed that the individual is a wanted person by the Canadian police, as indicated by the red notice. We coordinated with the Bali Regional Police to locate and eventually apprehend the individual," said the two-star general.
