Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of Multimedia Bureau of Indonesian National Police (INP) Public Relations Division (Karomulmed) Brigadier General Gatot Repli Handoko inaugurated a training program designed for the INP Public Relations personnel nationwide on Wednesday (24/5/23). This program aims to equip the police with necessary skills to navigate the ever-evolving dynamics of society, both in the digital realm and the physical world.

Karomulmed underscored the escalating significance of the upcoming 2024 elections, recognizing the growing influence they hold. The proliferation of misinformation on various social media platforms has become increasingly conspicuous, raising concerns about its potential ramifications on security and public order, commonly referred to as "kamtibmas."

Representing the Head of the INP Public Relations Division in the event, he emphasized the significance of an ever-growing digitally adept society, stating, "The police are increasingly concerned with the rise of a tech-savvy population. This is due to the fact that many individuals still lack prudence in utilizing social media, coupled with a relatively low level of digital literacy within Indonesian society."

He further elaborated that in anticipation of diverse challenges, the INP has acquired IPSE-S1 devices for both their headquarters and regional police offices. Through this training, it is expected that personnel will gain the proficiency to effectively operate these devices.

"Training to enhance the capabilities of personnel is a vital step towards securing personnel who meet the expected competency standards," he said.
