INP Thwarts the Drug Flow of 157 Kg Methamphetamine

inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Drug Investigation Directorate of Indonesian National Police (INP) Criminal Investigation Agency reveals the drug flow of meth with a total of 157 kilograms seized as evidence.

The Director of the Drug Investigation Directorate, Brigadier General Mukti Juharsa says that the drug network was revealed thanks to the collaboration with BPOM, PPATK, and Customs Office.

“The first case reveal was in North Aceh with a suspect with the initials of AR (33) arrested. The suspect was part of a Malaysian-Indonesian drug syndicate,” says Mukti in the press conference on Monday (7/22/2024).

Mukti explains that a 50 kilogram of meth packaged with a chinese tea bag were seized on the arrest of AR in North Aceh. There is also a firearm confiscated by the police during the arrest.

The next case was revealed in Banten with a total meth seized by the police reaching up to 107 kilograms. The case identified new suspects with the initials of TS (27), AS (39), and SR (27).

The North Aceh and Banten drug case was said to be linked by Director Mukti, as the drug suspects were all part of Malaysian-Indonesian drug syndicate.

The suspects were then charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 subsidiary Article 112 paragraph 2 of Law paragraph 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics and were threatened with a maximum penalty of death.
