Inp.polri.go.id – Central Java. The Central Java Regional Police erects the statue of Hoegeng in the front yard of police HQ facing the Giri Tunggal Hero’s Cemetery. Confirming the news, Central Java Regional Police Public Relations Chief, Senior Superintendent Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto said that there are two Hoegeng statues in the province, first in Pekalongan, the place where he was born, and the other is in Semarang City at the Central Java Regional Police HQ. Moreover, Bayu explains that the statue is 10 meters tall and stands on a four-meter high pedestal, which brings the total height of the monument to 14 meters, perfectly referenced his birth and death date, October 14th and July 14th respectively. Furthermore, Bayu describes that the statue stands straight with his right hand saluting and his left hand holding the commando stick. “We all know that Sir Hoegeng is a well-known Police figure who is brave, fair, and dedicated. This statue erected to remind us of his example,” says the PR chief. In addition, Bayu also explains that the monument does not only serves as icon for the police, but also serves for the people for his bravery, honesty and humbleness.
