inp.polri.go.id - Jambi. The Traffic Directorate of Jambi Regional Police has recorded 9,821 traffic violations during the 2024 Patuh Siginjai Operation.

The Director of Jambi Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Dhafi explains that the total traffic law enforcement by the police is 4,831.

“While the rest of 4,990 traffic violations were only given warning and education,” adds Dhafi.

The operation also recorded 12 traffic accidents, which is lower compared to 14 traffic accidents in 2023. From the total traffic accidents, eight lost their lives.

Throughout the operation, police also enforce the law through Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement, in which 83 traffic violation cases were found.

Dhafi noted that during the operation, his party still saw several motorbike drivers who carry more than one passenger or going against the flow. Police also found electric bikes were still often used on the main road.

“Previously in Baru City, Jambi City, we have urged them not to use the electric bike on the road, and we hope people would understand this,” adds Dhafi. He hopes parents would refrain from giving their children electric bikes.

In his closing statement, he hopes the 2024 Patuh Siginjai Operation would improve public compliance on traffic law.
