inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Joint Team of Palembang Sub-regional City Police Drug Criminal Investigation Directorate raided a location known to be “Narcotics Village” in Keramat Alley, 5 Ulu Subdistrict, SU I District, Palembang on Saturday (11/9/2024).

The raid, led by the Vice Director of the Drug Criminal Investigation Directorate, Superintendent Harisandi, has successfully secured eight men suspected of being involved in drug abuse.

Not only that, the police also confiscated two packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing 1.85 grams and eight yellow ecstasy pills.

He explained that the raid began with a public report stating that the area was a center for drug trafficking.

"After receiving the information, we immediately conducted an investigation and mapped access to the location. Our team was divided into two, with some going by land and others going along the river," said Harisandi.

He added that this raid was a follow-up to President Prabowo's 100-day work instructions as well as direct instructions from the South Sumatra Regional Police Chief and the Palembang Sub-regional Police Chief.

When asked about the possibility of a big drug dealer operating in the area, Harisandi said his party was still conducting further investigations.

“This is just the beginning. We will continue to develop this case to reveal the drug syndicate in those areas,” says Harisandi.
