inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The impact of the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, has disrupted flight activities. As a result, Komodo Labuan Bajo Airport in West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara was temporarily closed on Saturday (11/9/2024) at 12.00 pm.

The closure of flight activities after the paper test results showed positive exposure to the spread of volcanic ash from Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki. The airport is planned to reopen on Sunday (11/10/2024) at 07.00 am.

"We decided to extend it until 07.00 am in the morning. We pray that everything is safe," said the Head of the Komodo Labuan Bajo Airport Management Unit (UPBU), Ceppy Triono, as on Saturday (11/9/2024).

On this occasion, he said that the volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki was dangerous for flight activities. There were 20 flight schedules disrupted due to the disaster, with 16 flights canceled and four others were postponed.

He also said that the impact of the eruption was not only felt by Komodo Airport, but also flights at all airports in Flores. Therefore, the party will report the development of the eruption to the aviation authorities in Bali.
