inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo appointed Coordinating Minister of Human and Culture Development Muhadjir Effendy as the Acting Social Minister.

The appointment was following the resignation of Tri Rismaharini from her position as the Social Minister as she was running for the East Java Governor in the 2024 Regional Head Election.

“The President appoints Muhadjir Effendy as the Acting Minister of Social Affairs along with its duties, authorities, and responsibilities until the definitive appointment of the Minister of Social Affairs,” said the President’s Special Staff Coordinator, Ari Dwipayana on Friday (9/4/2024).

Ari says that Risma's dismissal from the position of Minister of Social Affairs was stated in Presidential Decree Number 100/P of 2024 concerning the Honorable Dismissal of Tri Rismaharini as Minister of Social Affairs of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet 2019-2024.

Coordinating Minister Ari previously served as Acting Minister of Social Affairs in 2020. At that time he filled the position of Minister of Social Affairs after Juliari Peter Batubara was named a suspect by the KPK in a case of alleged bribery.
