Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.   The National Commission on Violence Against Women (Komnas Perempuan) respected the Election Supervisory Board (DKPP)'s handling of the reported sexual misconduct allegations against Hasyim Asy'ari, the Chairman of the General Election Commission (KPU). 

They stood in solidarity with the victims and their advocates, said Komnas Perempuan Commissioner Siti Aminah Tardi on Sunday (21/4/2024), as reported by antaranews.com

Komnas Perempuan considered police reporting, in line with Law Number 12 of 2022 on Sexual Violence Crimes (TPKS), which emphasizes criminal justice resolution. 

Hasyim had been reported to DKPP by the Legal Aid and Dispute Settlement Consultation Institution of the Faculty of Law, University of Indonesia, and the Indonesian Women's Justice Association Legal Aid. 

The victim's lawyer provided evidence of Hasyim's ethical violations, expecting more than a mere warning from DKPP RI post-decision.
