Inp.polri.go.id - Pekanbaru. Kuantan Singingi Police Office Chief Senior Inspector Hendra Setiawan and Kuantan Singingi Police Head off Traffic Senior Inspector Boy Setiawan, fell from a paramotor while monitoring runway training on Monday.

The incident was confirmed by Kuansing Sub-regional Police Chief Superintendent Pangucap Priyo Soegito on Tuesday (16/4/2024)).  However, the cause of the fall remains unknown, according to antaranews.com.

Both officers were thrown onto the asphalt, with the paramotor parachute getting caught on an electric pole.  It is suspected the paramotor engine malfunctioned mid-air.

Chief Boy suffered minor injuries, while Chief Hendra sustained serious head injuries and complained of neck and abdomen pain. He is receiving treatment at Teluk Kuantan Regional Hospital, Chief Pangucap explained.

The paramotor was also used to monitor joint training for mini runway races in the Kenegerian Teluk Kuantan area.
