Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The LBH-YLBHI building in Menteng, Central Jakarta, caught fire around 10 pm on Sunday (7/4/2024). There were no reported casualties, and the extent of the damage in the building that houses the Legal Aid Institute (LBH)  and theIndonesian Legal Aid Foundation (YLBHI) is still being assessed, according to antaranews.com. Muhamad Isnur, an administrator at YLBHI, said that the cause of the fire remains unknown. Eyewitness Wasiatun, who owns a nearby fried catfish stall, reported hearing three loud explosions and seeing sparks, possibly originating from an air conditioner on the second floor. The fire quickly spread to the upper floors. Although the fire has been extinguished, fire department personnel are monitoring the area to prevent any potential flare-ups. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
