inp.polri.go.id – The Executive Director of Indonesian Police Strategic Studies Institute (Lemkapi), Edi Saputra Hasibuan stated that the input to the Police at this time, hopefully can make the institution better. He also saw that the National Police (Polri) under the leadership of General Listyo Sigit Prabowo is currently showing a more positive direction.
"Regarding the criticism, although it is bitter, the National Police Chief (Kapolri) is sure that it will make the Police organization a better one. We are sure that Kapolri will use this input as material for introspection and evaluation to become better," said Edi, Saturday (2/7/2022).
This was said by Edi as well as responding to criticism from the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS) regarding the violence carried out by the Police during the period July 2021-July 2022.
According to him, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, since being sworn in as the National Police Chief in 2021, has a strong commitment to continue to improve the performance of Polri by making various improvements and modernization of services. In fact, during Sigit's leadership, the community has followed many changes in service modernization, such as the presence of ETLE or electronic ticketing. With this new tech, people, like it or not, must obey the law or they will be the target of electronic ticketing cameras.
"Currently, all regional polices in Indonesia have implemented electronic ticketing. In addition to electronic ticketing, there are innovations in complaint services. Currently, people can easily submit complaints to the Police," he explained.
"Many complaints are now being followed up by the Police quickly without the necessity to go viral first," added the police law expert at Bhayangkara University, Jakarta.
Another success of the Police is their presence when the country is faced with Covid-19 pandemic. Every time, the Police are present with the community regardless of time and place.
"Thank to the support of all parties by being the front line with the Police, Indonesia is now out of Covid-19. Indonesia now is regarded as one of the best countries in dealing with Covid-19," said Edi.
To continue to improve the services of the Police, continued Edi Hasibuan, the public need not hesitate or be afraid to submit complaints or criticisms. Edi even praised Kapolri General Listyo Sigit Prabowo for always expecting input from the entire community so that the Police's performance would be better in the future.
