Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Communication and Digital has approved Bali’s request to temporarily halt telecommunications and broadcasting services across the island on 29 March2025, in observance of Nyepi, the Day of Silence.
Minister Meutya Hafid confirmed on Thursday (20/3/2025) that all mobile operators and broadcasters must suspend operations for 24 hours, from 6 am on 29 March 2025 until 6 am the next day.
The policy is meant to respect the Hindu Day of Silence, during which Balinese Hindus observe Catur Brata Penyepian by refraining from using electricity, traveling, and engaging in entertainment activities.
Other restrictions, including the closure of ports and tourist sites, are also in place during Nyepi.
