Inp.polri.go.id - Poso. The Madago Raya Task Force of Central Sulawesi Regional Police has called on former terrorism convicts to play a more active role in deradicalization efforts and preventing the spread of radical ideologies in Poso regency.
"In strengthening security and creating a conducive environment, we are intensifying outreach to former terrorism convicts in the region," said Assistant Senior Inspector Risdiyanto, thePoso Pesisir Police OfficeChief, on Saturday (11/1/2025).
The initiative is crucial for maintaining stability in Poso, particularly in Poso Pesisir, a region with a history of radical group activity. The operation includes community engagement, deradicalization, and counter-radicalization efforts.
"We cannot fight radicalism alone. Support from former terrorism convicts and the community is essential," Chief Risdiyanto emphasized, as quoted by antaranews.com
The task force also focuses on protecting vulnerable groups, such as youth and women, while targeting weapons, explosives, and other dangerous materials.
