 Malaysian Police Shoot Dead Suspected Killer of Indonesian Woman

Inp.polri.go.id - Kuala Lumpur. Malaysian police shot and killed a man suspected of murdering an Indonesian woman in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, antaranews.com reported. Selangor Police Chief Hussein Omar Khan CP said in a statement on Thursday (1/2/2024) that a raid was conducted by the Serious Crime Division of the Selangor Police at a five-story apartment in the Taman Bukit area, Subang, Shah Alam, Selangor on Wednesday around 5.30 pm.. He said that the raid aimed to uncover a murder case involving the stabbing of a 19-year-old Indonesian woman eight times in Sungai Way, Petaling Jaya, on Monday. During the raid, Chief Hussein statsaided that a male suspect in his twenties, who was not a Malaysian citizen, acted aggressively and attacked the police officers with a machete at the crime scene. The police fired shots in self-defense. The suspect was confirmed dead at the scene, and a 28 cm long machete was seized. He said the investigation is based on Article 307 of the Indonesian Criminal Code. Local media reports indicated that the male murder suspect is believed to be a friend of the victim. Malaysian police continued the investigation of the case. Meanwhile, the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur confirmed that the victim was an Indonesian citizen from East Java.
