Inp.polri.go.id - Manokwari. The Manokwari Immigration Office has deported three Chinese for working in illegal gold mining activities in Teluk Wondama, West Papua, while on visitor visas.
"They misused their visitor documents. As of today, we have deported them back to their home country," Iman Teguh Adianto, the Head of Manokwari Immigration, said on Wednesday (25/9/2024).
The visitor permits, valid for 60 days, had been extended through Jakarta’s Immigration Office before their illegal activities were uncovered, according to antaranews.com.
The trio, identified as WL, HZ and LH, was detained by the Teluk Wondama Sub-regional Police on 18 September 2024, and handed over to Immigration on 20 September 2024.
The authorities also found two other Chinese, identified as JC and ZH, d with valid investor permits (KITAS) and were not deported, though they were warned against involvement in illegal mining.
