Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The management of the Islamic Mental Hospital Klender in East Jakarta has prepared to provide therapy to legislative candidates who failed to secure a seat in the 2024 General Election. "We don't have specific preparations, but essentially, we are ready if needed, such as providing inpatient rooms for candidates who experience severe stress and require therapy," said the Director of the Hospital Dr. Prasila Darwin on Friday (9/2/2024). The hospital has allocated eight rooms for the depressed failed candidates who need care, antaranews.com reported.  The eight rooms have different facilities but all are equipped with surveillance cameras (CCTV) to be monitored by the nurse's station 24 hours a day. Dr. Prasila said that patients undergoing inpatient care will receive assistance if they exhibit severe symptoms.  For patients with only mild symptoms, counseling will be provided. "If the mental disorder is severe, we have a team of psychiatrists prepared. But if the disorder is mild, we also collaborate with psychologists because patients only need counseling and don't require medication," he explained. During treatment, family members are also allowed to visit the patient. Typically, inpatient care lasts for about a week. In the 2019 General Election, they received several patients who were failed candidates. However, they only experienced mild depression such as anxiety, worry, and difficulty sleeping. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
