inp.polri.go.id - Medan. Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo gave a score of 8.5 out of 10 for the implementation of the 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra National Sports Week (PON).

He also assessed that there was a lot of progress in the implementation of PON XXI Aceh-Sumut that should be appreciated, including the many PON records or national records that could be broken by athletes.

"Regarding achievements, many national records were broken in all sports branches. This shows that the spirit of sports development in all regions is competitive, very competitive," he said.

Then, he added, there are also beautiful and good venues, such as the North Sumatra Sport Center Volleyball Arena, the North Sumatra Sport Center Madya Athletic Stadium, and the Medan International Convention Center (MICC) which is an arena for e-sport.

He also believes that these venues can be a legacy for the host.,

Even so, Dito admitted that there were still a number of shortcomings in the implementation of PON XXI Aceh-Sumut.

According to him, organizing PON in two provinces acting as hosts is indeed a difficult thing to do.

He is committed that all shortcomings in the organization and implementation of the Aceh-North Sumatra PON will be used as evaluation material so that the next PON in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) can be better.
