Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. During a Coordination Meeting at the Indonesian National Police (INP) Headquarters, the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi urged public transportation operators to comply with the ticket price limit during the peak Eid al-Fitr homecoming (mudik) period.

"Even if some tickets are still available during the peak mudik period, they should serve as a reminder to operators not to sell tickets beyond the price limit," he said.

To further support travelers, the government is also providing discounts on airplane, train, and bus tickets during the mudik and return periods. These discounts not only provide added comfort but also aim to dissuade people from traveling by motorcycle.

"We humbly urge people not to ride motorcycles and instead take the government-provided free mudik buses, ships, and trains, which are available through the Ministry of Transportation, other ministries, and the INP," he said.

The authorities has anticipated 123,8 million travelers will journey to their hometowns during Eid-Al Fitr holiday, from April 19-25, 2023.
