Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The National Food Agency projects that the availability of corn until the end of the year is safe. However, this is only true if the production records and import realization are achieved.

“So does corn. If domestic production is achieved, then by the end of December our corn reserve will still be 2.8 million tons,” said the National Food Agency Main Secretary, Sarwo Edhy on Wednesday (5/1/2024).

Sarwo details that the production that has to be achieved in corn production is around 14.2 tons. While the import of corn in January-March has been realized for 488,000 tons.

Then, the National Food Agency projects that in April-December, the corn production will reach 1.4 million tons. He says that if all projections are realized, then the total corn availability will reach 17.1 tons.

In his further statement, if the corn stock can achieve those numbers, then by the end of this year, the Indonesian corn stock will be estimated to be around 2.8 million tons.
