North Sumatra Deploy 9,000 Personnel for Year End Security

Inp.polri.go.id -  Medan.  More than 9,000 personnel comprising police, military, and other stakeholders stood ready for  Operation Lilin Toba, geared towards ensuring the security of Christmas and New Year celebrations in North Sumatra in 2024. North Sumatra Regional Police Public Relations Department Chief, Senior Superintendent Hadi Wahyudi, announced on Sunday (10/12/2023) that the preparations include the establishment of 102 security posts, 12 integrated posts, and 79 service posts strategically positioned across the entirety of North Sumatra. He emphasized that the North Sumatra Police have organized the management of the Sumatra route, spanning from the east to the west of the region, with the deployment of personnel, security posts, and service points. Additionally, the North Sumatra Police have undertaken mapping and identification efforts for potential crowded tourist destinations, ensuring the comfort and safety of visitors during the festive season. The spokesperson said, "The North Sumatra Police are committed to ensuring that Christmas celebrations are joyous, secure, and festive, while community holidays unfold seamlessly, welcoming the New Year 2024 with enthusiasm." Operation Lilin Toba will be executed with efficiency and effectiveness, aligning with the simultaneous implementation of Operation Mantap Brata for the 2024 elections. "The North Sumatra Police are poised to guarantee an incident-free environment, ensuring a safe and smooth transition into the New Year in 2024," Chief Hadi asserted. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
