Papua Police Chief Holds 2024 Elections Safari

Fakhiri, the Chief of Papua Regional Police, spearheaded an Election Safari event titled "Synergy of the TNI, Police, Local Government, and Election Organizers to Ensure a Conducive Security Situation in Papua Province for the 2023-2024 Elections" at the Atumakuri Hall of Suni Abepura Hotel on Saturday (11/11/23). The gathering witnessed the presence of key figures, including the Acting Secretary of Papua Province Y. Derek Hegemur, Head of the Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih Strategic and Defense Studies Agency Brigadier General Achmad Fauzi, and other high-ranking officials from the Papua Regional Police, as well as various religious, traditional, and community leaders. "The crucial aspect to be mindful of is ensuring the smooth conduct of this election. I believe that with consistent cooperation, public order can be more conducive, allowing for the safe and smooth progression of development processes and all national agendas," he said. He further assured that the INP and Indonesian Military stand prepared to facilitate the seamless production and distribution of election logistics to Polling Stations (TPS). He also urged the General Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) to uphold neutrality and prioritize the execution of high-quality elections. Highlighting their proactive approach to ensuring a secure environment for the electoral process, the Papua Regional Police have executed Operation Mantap Brata Cartenz 2023-2024, spanning 222 days and involving 8,522 personnel, aims to create a conducive security situation in Papua.
