Inp.polri.go.id – Papua. Papua Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Mathius D. Fakhiri, expressed his deep condolences for the passing of two fallen police and a civilian who were killed by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Baya Biru District. “I feel saddened by the loss of our best Bhayangkara officers who bravely hold the front lines. They were killed by the people who want to see Papua continue to fall behind, those who want to hold back our beloved Papua,” says the police chief on Saturday (3/23/2024). The fallen police members, Second Police Brigadier Arnaldobert Fhin Yawan and Second Police Brigadier Sandi Defrit Sayuri, were killed when they were securing the Helipad 99 at Ndeotadi 99 Police Post in Blue Baya District. They were ambushed by KKB of Aibon Kogoya at around 08.00 am. Not only killing two police members, the criminal group also successfully snatched two rifles of AK-47 and also shot a civilian in the back with an arrow. (ad/rz/pr/nm)
