Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Garut Sub-regional Police records 4,317 traffic violations on two-wheeled vehicles during the two weeks of Patuh Lodaya Operation in Garut Regency, West Java. The thousands of violations were only given warning by the police.

"There is an increase in traffic violations in Garut Regency," said Garut Sub-regional Police Traffic Unit Chief, First Police Inspector Aang Andi Suhandi on Monday (7/29/2024).

He states that his party has held Patuh Lodaya Operation from June 14th to July 28th to educate the public on traffic law and safety while also suppressing the number of traffic accidents.

Throughout the operation, 4,317 recorded violations were only given warning and education by the police. On the other hand, the number is increasing from 3,377 of the previous year.

Aang explains that Patuh Lodaya Operation prioritize education for the people so that they will have the awareness to comply with the traffic law.

On the other hand, during this year's operation, there are Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) which help the operation to detect any violations on the road.

"We often used the mobile ETLE, and there are some who were enforced manually. The ones that we enforced manually are the violations that potentially could ended up into traffic accidents," explains Aang.

Furthermore, the traffic violations that are mostly recorded by the police are those who did not wear the standardized helmet, going against the flow, and underage drivers.

Considering there are still underaged drivers going around the road, his party has actively visited schools to socialize and educate the students about traffic laws.
