Due to recent downpours and landslide in Probolinggo Regency, East Java, Lumbang Sector Police, Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), Negororejo Vilage Head and local community are working together to repair the pipeline damaged by flooding. Previously, flood was reportedly occured on last Saturday (1/27/2024) at 15.00 pm at Negororejo wrecking Madakaripura pipeline. The damaged pipeline has hindered the people of Negororejo from accessing clean waters. “The incident has also caused the main access to the Madakaripura waterfalls to be closed as Lumbang Probolinggo Forkopimda searched for alternative routes,” says Probolinggo Sector Police Chief. On the other hand, Probolinggo Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Wisnu Wardana said that following the flood, the place requires some treatment and repairs. Furthermore, Probolinggo Sub-regional Police reveals the treatment includes infrastructure repairment, psychological support for the affected victims, and evaluation to prevent similar accident from reoccurring. “This incident highlights the importance of disaster mitigation planning, local preparation, and coordination between institutions in facing disasters,” he concluded.
