inp.polri.go.id - Jayapura. The Sub-regional Police of Lanny Jaya is investigating the terror by unknown personnel to Brigadier Johan Herik Sibarani (32) and a civilian named Adi Fallo (20) in Dukom Village, Tiom District and Dugime Village,  Niname District, Lanny Jaya Regency.

“The first incident occurred in Dukom Village at 19.30 local time where the unknown individual approach the kiosk owned by Brigadier Johan when suddenly they pulled out his gun and shot him,” says the Head of Papua Regional Police Public Relations, Senior Superintendent Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo on Wednesday (9/11/2024).

After hearing the information of the attack, joint personnel immediately went to the location and evacuated the victim to Tiom Hospital.

“He got hit in his right chest and the right back. The injury unfortunately kills him," explained Benny.

Following the attack in Dukom Village, another similar incident occurred in Dugume Village, Ninimae District where an unknown person shot a civilian named Adi at 20.05 local time. Victim got hit on his right thigh and has been evacuated to Tiom Hospital.

Lanny Jaya Sub-regional Police Chief, Police Assistant Superintendent Nursalam Saka, says the joint party is on guard to anticipate the following attack. He also cannot confirm yet whether the attack was carried out by the Armed Criminal Group or not.

“Currently we are chasing the suspect and joint forces are still on guard to anticipate a similar incident,” says Saka.
