Inp.polri.go.id - Balikpapan. In the meeting of Paripurna Cabinet in Nusantara Capital City (IKN), East Kalimantan Province, the Defense Minister who is also the elected president of 2024-2029 Prabowo Subianto declares his commitment to continue and complete the construction of IKN.

Prabowo stressed that the IKN project is vital to equitable development and to reduce the burden on Java Island, which has been the center of population and economic activity.

"I think just to make it clear and as I have said it before several times, we will complete IKN construction, and we will do it well," pledged Prabowo.

In his remarks, he conveyed that he is proud of the strong cultural nuance of the city and appreciates the hard work of President Joko Widodo and fellow ministries who develop the new capital city. Prabowo vows that he will accelerate the IKN construction progress, particularly the central government areas.

"And for this, i want to say to the IKN Authority that we will prepare a quite huge fund for you so we can finish several important aspects of the city," continued Prabowo.

According to him, the construction of MPR/DPR building, member housing, as well as office space for the judiciary, including the Supreme Court (MA) and Constitutional Court (MK) is the most important.

“If we completed that construction, substantially the city government can officially operate. The rest can follow,” said Prabowo.

Moreover, he also highlights the importance of preparing the city against disaster potentials, particularly wildfire, considering IKN took the concept of forest city. Prabowo underscores the necessity of advanced technology for monitoring and adding more firefighters .
