President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has departed Jakarta for Dubai to attend the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base on Thursday morning (30/11/2023). "The world has high hopes for COP28 to drive genuine global action in limiting the rise in global temperatures. Real commitments, especially from developed countries in climate finance, are crucial to achieving the goal of net-zero emissions," President Jokowi said shortly before his departure. The president aimed to share Indonesia's experience in addressing climate change impacts,  emphasizing the significance of global cooperation on climate finance and advocates for an inclusive transition for sustainable development and the well-being of people in developing countries, antaranews.com reported. During the summit, the Nusantara Capital (IKN) Authority will unveil the Nusantara Regionally and Locally Determined Contribution  document, aiming to make IKN Nusantara a net-zero-emission city by 2045. This living document adapted to technological developments and outlines specific climate change-related goals for the region. "I believe this is a significant historical achievement not only for IKN but also for Indonesia, demonstrating our collective commitment to addressing climate change and overcoming potential challenges together," said Bambang Susantono, Head of IKN Authority.
