Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo inspected preparations for the 43rd ASEAN 2023 Summit at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Senayan in Jakarta, on Friday (1/9/23). President Jokowi was accompanied by several key members of his cabinet, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno L. Marsudi, the Minister of Public Works and Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, and the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir. Their visit encompassed a thorough examination of various spaces within the JCC complex, with notable stops at the Media Center situated in Hall B and a tour of the primary meeting area at the Plenary Hall of JCC. The President conveyed that the preparations for the 43rd ASEAN Summit, scheduled from September 5th to 7th, 2023, are nearing completion. While he expressed satisfaction with the progress, he acknowledged the necessity for minor adjustments, assuring that the organizing committee is diligently addressing these matters. President Jokowi noted a few minor details that require attention, stating, "The flags need to be raised a bit, and some minor things like that." Furthermore, President Jokowi confirmed that various heads of state have signaled their intent to participate in this prestigious event, with coordination being managed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Elaborating on the conference's agenda, President Jokowi emphasized its multifaceted nature. However, he underscored a central focus on the economic aspects within the ASEAN region, emphasizing, "There are numerous items on the agenda, but the primary focus is the economy. We are determined to promote ASEAN as a pivotal center for economic growth."
