Inp.polri.go.id – Bintan. The investigators of Port Bintan Customs and Excise Office (KBC) are still developing the case of an alcoholic beverages smuggling worth IDR 6.9 billion. Investigators are currently examining the witness and no suspects have been named. Based on the initial investigation results, there are suspicions that the smuggling involves police members. In response to the claims, Riau Island Regional Police PR Chief, Senior Superintendent Zahwani Pandra Arsyad says that his party will confirm the information. Furthermore, Zahwani underscores that if there are indeed police members involved in the criminal actions, there will be firm internal legal actions against the member. Meanwhile, Head of Batam Customs and Excise Prohibited and Restricted Goods Sections, Rizki Baidillah confirms that his party is investigating nine witnesses of the case. Regarding the entrepreneur initialed AM, who allegedly ordered the beverages, Rizki still could not provide details on the matter. “I could not confirm any baseless rumor and it would only disturbed the investigation process,” says Rizki in conclusion.
