Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf warned that social aid, better known locally as bansos, will be revoked if recipients are found using it for online gambling to prevent the misuse of social assistance funds.

“Online gambling is clearly prohibited. If caught, they will no longer receive aid,” he said on Monday (7/10/2024).

Speaking after distributing aid to vulnerable groups in Ciracas, Minister Yusuf emphasized that recipients must use the funds for productive purposes. He urged that social aid, such as food packages, should be used to purchase healthy and nutritious food.

Minister Yusuf also called on community facilitators to play an active role in educating beneficiaries on proper financial management and the intended use of the assistance.

“Accompanying facilitators should provide guidance and promote financial literacy to ensure responsible use of government assistance,” he said.
