Fatal Accident Prompts South Kalimantan Police to Evaluate Traffic Route

Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta.  The South Kalimantan Regional Police will evaluate the traffic route on Jalan Ahmad Yani in Kintap District, Tanah Laut Regency in the wake of a tragic accident that claimed the life of Deputy Police Chief of Pulau Laut Timur, Second Inspector Abu Hamzah, on Saturday evening (11/11). Expressing condolences, Polda Kalsel spokesperson, Kombes Pol Mochamad Rifa'i, said on Sunda, "The South Kalimantan Police mourns the loss of the late Second Inspector Abu Hamzah in yesterday's traffic accident. A thorough evaluation of the incident will be conducted." Kintap District is recognized as a fast traffic route for vehicles, especially for cross-province travel between Banjarmasin and Tanah Bumbu, antaranews.com reported. The late Deputy Chief Abu was traveling in a  Daihatsu Sigra minibus from Batulicin, Tanah Bumbu, towards Pelaihari, Tanah Laut. The accident involved a collision with a Toyota Avanza minibus, driven by 18-year-old Muhammad Arapik. "The late Abu Hamzah has been laid to rest in his hometown in Pagatan, Kusah Hilir District, Tanah Bumbu, with the funeral ceremony led by Kotabaru Police Chief Superintendent Tri Suhartanto," Rifa'i added.
