South Tangerang Sub-regional Police Uncovers 140,4 Kg Marijuana Flows from Sumatra

Inp.polri.go id - Tangerang. South Tangerang Sub-regional Police Drug Criminal Investigation Unit has uncovered 140.4 kg marijuana smuggling following the arrest of three suspects, H (27), G (26), and S (38).

During a press conference, the South Tangerang Sub-regional Police, Superintendent Ibnu Bagus Santoso, says that his drugs unit have seized the drugs from the suspects on August 9th, 2024.

"We were told that there will be a drug transaction at the location where we arrest two suspects with the initals of H and G. After further developing the case we arrest other suspect with the initials of S," said Ibnu.

Ibnu conveys that his party has estimated to save around 1,407,000 people from the illicit drugs that valued 2,1 billion IDR.

Meanwhile, Head of South Tangerang Sub-regional Police Drug Criminal Investigation Unit, Police Senior Inspector Bachtiar Noprianto says there is one fugitive with the initials of R who sold the drugs through online.

"From the statement of H and G, the drugs were from someone with the initials of R. He sold the drugs through social media and it operates from Sumatra-Java," conclude Ibnu.

For their crimes, they will be charged with Article 114 paragraph 2 sub 115 paragraph 2 sub 111 paragraph 2 Jo 132 paragraph 1 Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with the threat of the death penalty, life imprisonment or imprisonment for a minimum of 6 (six) years and a maximum of 20 (twenty) years in prison.
