The Indonesian National Police (Polri) Chief, Police General Listyo Sigit Prabowo and the Indonesian Military Force (TNI) Commander, General Agus Subiyanto attend the Peaceful Election Declaration with Community and Religious Organizations which held in Grand Sahid Jaya, Central Jakarta on Tuesday (1/16/2024). The declaration was led by Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), followed by 87 interfaith organizations and religious assemblies under the auspices of the MUI. The declaration raised the theme of “Guarding Peaceful, Fair, Honest, and Integrated Election”. General Listyo states that TNI-Polri along with other related stakeholders are willingly to commit in solidifying their chemistry for the success of 2024 General Election. Meanwhile, the Chairperson of MUI, Anwar Iskandar reminds the importance of safeguarding state unity ahead the election. “Today MUI invites others for National Gathering of Islamic Organization Leaders and religious figures in Indonesia. We pray that this gathering could tighten our unity ahead the election,” pray Anwar. The Peaceful Election Declaration contains seven main points such as: 1. Committed to maintain and safeguard the democracy process, according to the 2024 General Election process to remain safe, peace, honest, fair, and integrated. 2. Invites all national elements to actively participate of supporting 2024 General Election. 3. Invites all Indonesians who has the right to vote to cast their vote with full responsibility. 4. Invites all parties to actively monitor and inspect every election process to go accordingly, safely, peacefully, honest, fair, and integrated. 5. Invites all stakeholders, election candidates, candidate supporters, Politic Parties, and Politic Elite to participate fairly and comply with the campaign rules by not taking advantage of hazardous contents. 6. Urge all state components both the government, election participants, and public to gracefully accept the results of the elections which will be carried out neutrally, honestly, fairly and with dignity. 7. Invites all state components to push the election as the momentum for democracy which normalize the differences in opinion while maintaining unity. (ad/rd/pr/nm)
