Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Karawang, West Java has reported that ten villages across five sub-districts are experiencing a water crisis this dry season.
“Areas affected by the drought and struggling with clean water are in southern Karawang,” said Ferry Muharram,the Head of Emergency and Logistics at BPBD Karawang, on Sunday (1/9/2024).
A total of 2,979 families, comprising 7,850 individuals, are impacted. BPBD Karawang has delivered 186,000 liters of clean water and basic necessities to the affected communities.
The drought, which has persisted for about a month, affects several villages. In Pangkalan Sub-district, the villages of Mulangsari, Kertasari, Jatilaksana, and Taman Mekar are impacted. Other affected areas include Kutalanggeng Village in Tegalwaru Sub-district, and Wanakerta, Wanajaya, and Wanasari villages in Telukjambe Barat Sub-district. Parungmulya Village in Ciampel Sub-district and Curug Village in Klari Sub-district are affected.
