inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi reviews the autonomous trams in Kariangau Terminal Port, Balikpapan. The CRRC Qingdao Sifang Autonomous Tram was indeed scheduled to arrive on Wednesday (7/31/2024).

Meanwhile, an Autonomous Rail Transit (ART) train set of the Norinco Autonomous Tram (CRRC Zuzhou) arrived in Balikpapan on July 26 2024.

“These train sets are scheduled to enter Nusantara Capital City on August 1st, 2024,” said Minister Budi on Wednesday.

Budi reveals that the autonomous tram will be tested internally upon arriving in the city in August. Then, Jokowi will personally test the train set on August 5th, 2024. Afterwards, the train set will be showcased from October to December 2024.

“I hope everything goes according to the plan. With that, the train set can officially run on Independence Day, according to the instructions of the president,” said Minister Budi.

The Minister of Transportation also said that the initial phase of autonomous tram operations at IKN will function as a feeder vehicle for participants in the August 17th, 2024 ceremony. This mode of transportation will operate on West Sumbu Kebangsaan and East Sumbu Kebangsaan with a cruising speed of 40 km per hour.
