The Ministry of Youth and Sports appreciated the thousands of runners who joined the solidarity run for Palestine titled "Indonesia Run for Palestine" held at the Ministry of Youth and Sports field in Senayan on Sunday (25/2/2024). Representing Minister Dito Ariotedjo, Deputy for Youth Empowerment Asrorun Ni’am Sholeh said that the participants' turnout signifies Indonesia's stance in supporting Palestinian independence, antaranews.com reported. "Sports is a universal language to express a cause and purpose. Today, we gather and run to provide moral, financial, and spiritual support for Palestinian independence," he said in a statement. This support, Deputy Asrorun, holds significance amid the current situation where Palestinians face oppression, occupation, genocide, and aggression from Israel. "Indonesia Run For Palestine" was organized by the National Board of Zakat (Baznas) in collaboration with the Ministry, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and several other sponsors. As the culmination of Baznas's 23rd anniversary celebration, participants also contributed humanitarian donations for the Palestinian community's needs.
