The Head of Trade Policy Agency of the Ministry of Trade, Kasan, says that government continue to optimize the natural resources to develop green and sustainable market. “Indonesia has various potentials and a wealth of natural resources to develop green and sustainable market, which hopefully could suppress the impact of climate change and drive the economic wheel for the community,” says Kasan on Thursday (1/18/2024). One of their commitment demonstrated by the initiative in downstreaming the mining products such as nickel which serves as the core product for electric vehicle. “In global level, Indonesian [nickel] export shows significant improvement by being the 8th highest exporter in the world for 2021 and the first in 2022, beating countries who previously export nickels in mass such as Canada, Rusia, and United States of America,” Kasan continued. The effort in downstreaming for the nickel accommodator needs to expand to realize sustainable market for the advancement of Indonesia as a whole. “Trade Ministry is committed to continue pushing trade policies who played the important role in ensuring sustainable market in Indonesia,” explains Kasan.
