inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Police Chief (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo directly observes the acceleration of vaccination activities at the BRI Radio Dalam GOR, South Jakarta, Tuesday (8/3/2022). This acceleration is also carried out at 5,777 vaccination points throughout Indonesia, with a target of 1.5 million vaccine doses. On that occasion, Sigit said, acceleration of vaccination will continue to be carried out throughout Indonesia as an effort to prepare for, and support the Government's strategy to turn the Pandemic into an Endemic. "Why do we do it? Because we want to pursue the efforts of preparing the program from turning the Pandemic into Endemic," Sigit told the reporters after reviewing the vaccination. the Minister of Health of Indonesia stated that the government was preparing a strategy to turn a pandemic into an endemic. Sigit added, to support the efforts of the Government, one of them is to accelerate vaccination for the people of Indonesia and handle the case of Covid-19. "At one hand, we handle and monitor the development of the Covid-19 case. Then we hope that the recovery rate will increase and suppress the death rate to a minimum, by taking care of the community in hospitals," said Sigit. The former head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Bareskrim) of Polri also revealed that WHO set a target for Indonesia to realize 70% vaccination by the end of May. "Even though nationally, our current rate for the second dose is quite high, which is 71%, it is not evenly distributed if we calculate it at a provincial level. Even if the second dose rate is already above 100 percent like several areas such as DKI Jakarta," said the former Banten Police Chief. On the other hand, Sigit also reminded the public to get their booster by visiting the nearest vaccine booth that the government has already provided. Sigit explained that the 3rd dose of vaccination will provide higher immunity against all types of Covid-19 variants. Many proofs showed that booster vaccines can also reduce fatalities for people exposed to the coronavirus, especially those with comorbidities. "Because there is the data backing up that argument. Of course, the more complete the vaccine dose, the higher the immunity, and the lower the risk of fatality. So we are ready to prepare our society against the Delta, Omicron variant or new variants that might emerge again, and must always be ready for," said Sigit. Besides that, Sigit also appreciated the members of Cipayung Plus for collaborating in the vaccination acceleration program. He hopes that, in the future, the youth organization, which is the nation's next-generation, can inform the public about the importance of getting vaccinated to control the Covid-19 pandemic. "In the future, we will continue to collaborate in carrying out various activities related to the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, activities to support national economic recovery (PEN), and others," said Sigit. In his direct inspection, Sigit also provided virtual guidance to all his staff in Indonesia in controlling the Covid-19 Pandemic. During the vaccination acceleration activity, Kapolri also saw firsthand the people's market program that sells cooking oil at a lower price to the general public. Meanwhile, residents who get vaccinated were given food packages.
