West Bandung Health Office Detects Monkeypox Suspect in Cianjur

Inp.polri.go.id – West Bandung. Health Office of West Bandung regency found a man from Cianjur to be the suspect of monkeypox. The survivor of HIV was reportedly went to Padalarang Health Center for medical treatment. The man usually came to Padalarang Health Center for routine medical check-up for antiretroviral (ARV) therapy to suppress the risk of HIV transmission. “Suspect is an HIV patient who was diagnosed in Padalarang Health Center back in September. The patient was on ARV treatment in Padalarang Health Center,” says Head of Disease Prevention and Control Division, Nurul Rasihan, Wednesday (11/8/2023). She stated that since September 2023, the suspect lives in a rented house in Leuwigajah, South Cimahi, because he has to be treated for his HIV disease. “Then, on November 1st, 2023, the suspect went to Padalarang Health Center after having lesion and fever,” she adds. After given medicine and suggested to be treated to the hospital, the next three days the suspect returned with a worse lesion condition, along with vesicles on his body. The suspect then returned to his hometown in Cianjur. Just a moment after that, West Bandung Regency Health Officials detect a monkeypox symptom on the suspect and warned Cianjur Regency Health Office. Nurul states that the samples has been taken by Cianjur Health Office from the suspect and clarify that the suspect is not a citizen of West Bandung Regency. (ad/fa/pr/nm)
