inp.polri.go.id – Mataram. Investigators of the Directorate of Special Crimes of West Nusa Tenggara Police have named two suspects in a case of alleged corruption in the procurement of Teaching Tools (ABBM) at the Mataram Health Polytechnic.  Head of Public Relations Department of the West Nusa Tenggara Police Senior Superintendent Lalu Muhammad Iwan Mahardan confirmed that the suspects in handling the corruption case had been named.  "Yes, we have named the two suspects," he said as quoted by Antaranews.com on Tuesday (1/31/23). The two  suspects were identified by their initials A and Z. However, their roles in the crime have not been confirmed yet pending the conclusion of the investigation. The procurement of ABBM was funded by the 2017 State Budget, which was channeled through the Ministry of Health with a budget of IDR 19 billion. The purchase was made through an e-catalogue and a tender system which was won by seven companies and 11 distributors. Some of the items procured, such as the mannequin dolls, were intended to support the practices in various health departments, including nursing, midwifery, nutrition, and health analysis.  However, some of the items sourced from the procurement could not be used.  A previous finding from the Ministry of Health's Inspectorate General estimated the value of the corruption at IDR 4 billion. The figure comprises the value of corruption cases involving polytechnic schools in Mataram, Banda Aceh and Tasikmalaya as well. (sy/hn/um)
