Inp.polri.go.id – West Papua. The West Papua Regional Police deployed 578 personnel to secure the election logistic distributions. The distribution will move the ballots for The Indonesian People's Representative Council (DPR RI), the provincial Regional People's Representative Council (Provincial DPRD), and the district Regional People's Representative Council (Regency DPRD). “There are 578 personnel tasked to secure the distributions,” says Head Bureau Ops of West Papua Regional Police, Senior Superintendent Erick Kadir Sully on Wednesday (1/17/2024). Erick explains that the election logistic distribution security begins from the Manokwari Port and will continue until the ballots are all distributed to each regencies across West Papua. The security, says the police, is part of Mansinam Mantap Brata Operation. “Indonesian National Police is committed to maintain peace and security during the 2024 General Election,” says Erick. Erick continues that the security for the ballots would continue after its distribution to regencies. Police will continue to secure the election logistics until the election is over. Moreover, police personnel also deployed to General Election Commission (KPU) Office and Elections Supervisory Body to anticipate potential threats. “Police continues to monitor the situation optimally so that every steps during the election would go smoothly,” closed Erick.
